Dr K.L. Azad, who led the doctors to protest by resigning, said hoodlums had attacked medical students and doctors on October 10, when the latter were on a four-day strike demanding better security.
The strike was called off after local MLA Dr Subhau Kashyap and Bastar collector S.M. Paraste assured the doctors of adequate security.
But 12 days later, sword-wielding goons roaming around the medical college campus attacked and injured two students, leading to their hospitalisation, Dr Azad said.
