'93 blasts: Verdict in 2 cases today

A designated court in Mumbai hearing the 1993 serial bomb blasts case is likely to give verdict on Thursday, on alleged involvement of accused Parvez Nasir Ahmed Shaikh in two explosions at Katha Bazaar and Hotel Sea Rock in Mumbai.
Parvez is charged with parking an RDX-laden scooter on March 12, 1993, at Katha Bazaar in south Mumbai, which exploded killing four persons and injuring another 21 besides damaging property worth Rs 37 lakh.
He is also charged with placing an RDX-laden bag in one of the rooms at hotel Sea Rock which exploded damaging property worth Rs nine crore.
Besides, Parvez is also facing charges under repealed Terrorist and Disruptive Activities (Prevention) Act (TADA) for participating in landing and transportation of arms and explosives, which arrived at Shekhadi coast in Raigad district of Maharashtra in 1993, receiving arms training in Sandheri village near Bhorghat for committing terror acts, filling RDX in vehicles which were planted at various places.
Parvez is also charged with conspiracy under TADA (P) Act and IPC sections relating to murder, attempt to murder, causing hurt, causing grievous hurt, damage to property and damage to hotel Sea Rock and shops in Katha Bazaar.
