A little known organistaion promises heaven on earth in Bhilai

The steel town of Bhilai will get helicopter ambulance, metro rail, IITs, IIMs and five star hotels if the Ispat Awas Kalyan Samiti wins the elections.

Hold your breath and hear the agenda of Ispat Awas Kalyan Samiti, a newly formed organisation that is going to field its candidate from Bhilai this assembly election.

'Helicopter ambulance and metro-rail service here', begins the endless promises. Voters' discretion is sought, while making a noise of disparagement and going boisterous after reading the promises made in the pamphlets that were printed in thousands and distributed in the township on Sunday.

"Why can't the people of Bhilai have the facilities that is enjoyed by the people of London, Paris, Moscow, Berlin, Rome, Luxembourg, New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco, California, Mumbai, Pune, New Delhi?" reads the pamphlet.

And then goes on the list of promises you can read and blink your eyes.

"We will establish Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIIT), Indian Institute of Management (IIM) and Indian Institute of Fashion Technology here", they promise.

The pamphlet at the end carries the name of one Vikas Singh, president of the Samiti. "Young scientists, BSc, MSc, MCA, PGDBM. President of Emerging Young Scientist Research and Development Organisation".

These are some of the feathers in his cap.

"Only those with big political banners have been contesting and winning election till date. But now we have to change the history. Time has come for the people to assert their power. Please vote in favour of the educated and young contestant of the Samiti", appeals the pamphlet but keeps the name of their candidate secret.

One who was distributing the pamphlet in Sector X said, "Everything would be made public when our candidate will file the nomination paper on November 12th."

"We are not the first to promise moon to the voters but we are sure to fulfil them if our candidate is sent to Vidhan Sabha", he added.

There is no end to the promises in this two pages' pamphlet. 'Bhilai will have a bench of the High Court? We will invite the international companies like BPL, Sony, Samsung, LG and Mitsubishi to open their units in Bhilai? And remove the problem of unemployment', it further reads.

Those who go to Mumbai and New Delhi to enjoy their weekends too have news for them: "Hotel Taz, Le Meridian, Ashoka and Hayat Regency would be opened here."

And for swimmers and kids: "Every pond will have fountains and every sector of Bhilai township will have its own swimming pool. Because swimming is a good exercise for health", remarks the pamphlet.
