A rare treat for music lovers
A CONFLUENCE of talented artistes was witnessed at the music conference in Mehta auditorium of Prayag Sangeet Samiti on Sunday evening. Shahnai recital by Ustad Fateh Ali Khan from Varanasi mesmerised the audience. Ustad was accompanied by Kuber Nath Mishra and Pyare Hussain Khan on tabla, Vishwanath Prasad, Hasan Ali and Hasan Zafar on shahnai and Arun Kumar Asthana on harmonium. Another commendable presentation was given by Saiyani from Kolkata who performed kathak and Durga Vandana.

Another commendable presentation was given by Saiyani from Kolkata who performed kathak and rendered an auspicious start to the event with Durga Vandana.
She was accompanied by Anand Gupta (vocal), Naresh Mukhopadhyay (tabla) and Sunanday Mukhopadhyay (sitar).
Earlier, the event was inaugurated by Vice Chancellor of Allahabad University Prof RG Harshe and the welcome speech was given by secretary of Prayag Sangeet Samiti JN Chaturvedi,. Sunil Gupta conducted the programme and the vote of thanks was proposed by joint secretary Arun Kumar Srivastav. Director of North Central Zone Cultural Centre JN Chaturvedi was present as the chief guest.
The music conference will continue till March 10 in which renowned artistes from across the country will participate.
