In the ongoing tussle over putting up a candidate for the President’s post, political parties have indirectly dragged the highest office into a controversy. They should have ensured that they did not tarnish the august position of President. It is surprising that in a country with so many intellectual personalities, we could not choose one person who would be above controversy.
