Walk the World is said to be the world’s largest global walkathon held to raise awareness on the issue of child hunger.

Organised by DSM India, a life sciences and material sciences company in partnership with the United Nations World Food Programme (UNWFP), Walk the World took off from HUDA Gymkhana Club at 6.30 am.

JK Raman, head advocacy and resource mobilisation of UNWFP, said a similar run was also organised in Bangalore.

“The walkathon is being held at 190 locations across the world on Sunday for the cause of child hunger and support to the UN Millennium Development goal,” Raman said.
