Abductors release AFP photographer in Gaza

Jaime Razuri was snatched by four gunmen outside the news agency's office in Gaza City on January 1.

Agence France-Presse (AFP) photographer Jaime Razuri was freed in the Gaza Strip late on Sunday, seven days after he was abducted by masked gunmen.

Palestinian security forces handed the 50-year-old Peruvian to AFP representatives at Palestinian president Mahmud Abbas's compound in Gaza City.

Minutes after his release, a relieved Razuri told AFP: "I'm fine. I'm very happy to be released. They treated me well and gave me good food." He also thanked "all those who were involved in my release."

Razuri was snatched by four gunmen outside AFP's office in Gaza City on January 1.
