Perhaps the duo are known for dressing India's best known faces such as Amitabh Bachchan, Jaya Bachchan, Dimple Kapadia, Parmeshwar Godrej etc as well as international personalities such as Dame Judi Dench who has worn their creations.
Over the years, the Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla label has made its mark internationally, beginning with the range of exclusive shawls that sold under the Shakira Caine mark at Harvey Nichols and Harrods in London and Neiman Marcus and Bergdof Goodman in New York.
A desire for change led to the creation of an imaginative furniture line in the last decade that has proved popular with a discerning clientele. The foray into furniture, complemented by accessories for the home, was in many ways an extension of their couture styles re-interpreted into another form and medium.
Abu Sandeep were awarded the 2003 Designer Wars Championship in London. This was an international competition where they contended with architects from all over the world. The duo redesigned the house of Mary Fessey and was voted best designers by a public poll.
In December 2003 Abu Sandeep were presented with the National award for best costumes for Devdas where they designed costumes for the pivotal characters of Madhuri Dixit, Shahrukh Khan and Jackie Shroff.
The duo retail from their flagship stores in Mumbai, Bangalore and New Delhi. They are also the first Indian designers to stock collections at the renowned Harrods, Knightsbridge, UK on the designer floor.
This year 2005 Abu Sandeep are the creative directors for Lakme Fashion House on Star One. Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla play the role of creative directors at Fashion House. They have traveled to the cities of Delhi, Calcutta, Bangalore and Mumbai to select contestants etc. To put in a nutshell the designer duo will shortlist contestants, allocate designing tasks, monitor the daily program, and innovate on it and finally judge progress and then the winners.
