All the injured have been admitted to the SRN Hospital where condition of billing clerk Ram Shankar Misra is stated to be critical.
According to Ojha, all the officials were on the way to Lucknow to attend a meeting under the presidentship of Chief Minister Mulayam Singh Yadav regarding Ardh Kumbh preparations by an official jeep. Suddenly, the steering of the jeep failed and it dashed against a tree, injuring all the occupants of the vehicle.
Fire brigade personnel from nearby fire station rushed the injured to the primary health centre at Kunda.
Later, the injured, including Ojha, accountant (Magh Mela) Ravindra Mohan Mittal and driver Panch Lal, were shifted to the surgical ward of the SRN Hospital while Ram Shankar Mishra has been admitted to the ICU of the SRN Hospital.
District Magistrate Amrit Abhijat, who was also heading towards Lucknow, reached the accident spot and made necessary arrangements.
