Actress attacked, escapes unhurt

The popular film actress who is contesting from Nagari in Andhra Pradesh on TDP ticket, came under attack from Congress activists.

Popular film actress Roja, who is contesting from Nagari assembly seat in Chittoor district of Andhra Pradesh on TDP ticket, came under attack from Congress activists at Koppedu village in the district when she was on her way to a polling booth this morning.

However, the actress escaped unhurt as the police promptly swung into action and escorted her to a safer place, police officials said here.

The incident occurred when Roja, who is making her electoral debut, entered Koppedu, the native village of the Congress candidate R Chenga Reddy, police said.

The TDP activists retaliated by preventing Chenga Reddy from entering Vuyyurpet village in the district.
