Addressing election meetings in favour of the Congress candidate from Balaghat, Vishehswar Bhagat at Barghat and Lalburra in the district, Singh said that Advani had always criticised Manmohan Singh as a weak Prime Minister.

"It was this Prime Minister who had the guts and courage to go through with the nuclear deal with the USA although the Left was strongly opposed to it," he said.

Regarding Advani, the Congress General Secretary said that on the one hand he talked about the Ram temple at Ayodhya and on the other praised Jinnah at Karachi.

Singh described the satyagraha staged by the Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister, on the issue of coal given for power production in the State as a "mere drama". He said that the State government had till now failed to give 'pattas' to tribals for land owned by them.
