Ganguly did come with the team to the ground but preferred to sit out on the bench.

The skipper, it is learnt, has caught cold and is running fever which makes him the second Indian cricketer to have fallen sick on the current tour.

He apparently has begun the medical treatment and is on antibiotics.

Virender Sehwag, it might be recalled, did not play in the last game against Zimbabwe as he was running fever.

Sehwag was also not seen at the function last evening at the Indian High Commissioner's residence though Ganguly was very much present.

According to coach Greg Chappell, the players have not been able to adjust to the rather cool conditions in Zimbabwe.

India face an important match against New Zealand in the Tri-Series on Friday.
