The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has arrived at a solution to the Ahmedabad imbroglio — and indications are it may go down well with the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB).

As things stand now, the BCCI has proposed the holding of a sixth one-day international in Ahmedabad. If Pakistan agrees to this, then the Test match originally scheduled to be hosted by the city will be shifted to Kolkata. Pakistan had refused to play a Test in Ahmedabad citing security concerns.

Addressing a press conference in the Capital after a working committee meeting on Thursday, BCCI president Ranbir Singh Mahendra also said that the tour schedule would have to be revised if the proposal was accepted. Consequently, the entire India-Pakistan series may be deferred by four to five days.
