"Do not join the Armed Forces only with the motive of serving the nation but for an exciting and adventurous career," Tyagi said addressing the cadets at the NCC Camp 2007 in New Delhi.

The Air Chief inspected the Guard of honour and witnessed the special cultural programme presented by cadets from various parts of India.

The event also included a special performance by Sri Lankan and Nepalese cadets.

He also exhorted the cadets to break the barriers of poverty and induce discipline among the people.

About the difference in NCC from the past, Tyagi said, "change is definitely there and the way the cadets have performed is laudable."

This year, the NCC has 198 cadets from the Air Force, which is highest till date.
