A security alert was sounded in the city today as police intensified vigil amid reports that some militants might indulge in subversive activities during the Republic Day tomorrow.

A security alert was sounded in the city today as police intensified vigil amid reports that some militants might indulge in subversive activities during the Republic Day tomorrow.
"Intelligence inputs hint at some anti-national elements indulging in subversive activities to vitiate the atmosphere and terrorise people," IGP (Jammu) K Rajindra Kumar said.
Police had been put on high alert and told to step up vigil to ward off any untoward incident, he said.
Ahead of the R-Day, all incoming vehicles into the city were being subjected to thorough checks, the IGP said.
