All-religion meet flays flesh trade, child abuse

Highlighting the teachings of Islam on women and children in the seminar, Shahar Qazi Maulana Waliullah, claimed that Islam provided equal status to women in the society.
He narrated the plight of women before the emergence of Islam. He said trafficking was a heinous crime and little knowledge of religion and materialistic society was the root cause for trafficking. He called upon the people of all religions to come forward and join hands in anti-trafficking network.
Delivering his views on this occasion, Dharmguru Sant Kaushal Kishor from Ayodhya, said that man worshipped Goddess Saraswati for education, Goddess Durga for power and Goddess Laxmi for wealth, but in real life we ignored the significance of women.
He stressed the need to check domestic violence and crimes against children. Sikh religious leader Gyani Bhag Singh quoted Guru Vani to highlight the status of women in the society and said women gave birth to new generations and they should be worshipped.
Bodhguru Dr Swaroopa Nandanji discussed the Astangik Marg of Lord Buddha where stress has been laid on various means to check the exploitation of women.
Expressing his views on this occasion, Father JP Dutta, quoted from the Bible and called upon the people to check crime against women. Senior journalist Anand Rai and head of the department of Psychology Dr Babban Mishra also delivered their views in the seminar and exhorted the youths to start a joint and collective operation to check cross border trafficking.
