AMA celebrates Doctors? day

SEVERAL EVENTS marked the Doctors’ Day, which was celebrated by the doctors and Allahabad Medical Association (AMA) members at the Blood Bank here on Sunday.

Addressing the gathering, AMA president Dr AK Bansal recalled the contribution of Dr BC Roy in whose memory Doctors’ Day is being celebrated across the country. Dr Bansal and former MLA Anugrah Narain Singh distributed equipment to physically challenged persons and children.
Nearly 89 persons belonging to various categories of handicapped were given tri-cycles, crutches, blind sticks, hearing aids etc by the District Disability Rehabilitation Centre (DDRC).
On the occasion, Dr Archana Sharma presented a scientific lecture on ‘blood component and its uses’, while Dr Anil Shukla delivered a lecture on ‘AMA blood bank- past, present and future.’ Dr RC Gupta conducted the session.
Meanwhile, the association felicitated senior members of the Allahabad Medical Association and others who have served the society.
Dr OP Bajaj, Dr RP Mehrotra, Dr SN Jaiswal, Dr JK Mishra, Dr Gopalji, Dr Rakesh C Gupta, Prof Raghu Sinha, DDRC, Dr Ashok Agarwal, Dr GS Sinha were felicitated on the occasion.
Highlighting their activities, AMA secretary Dr VK Gupta said that the association also felicitated meritorious wards of the doctors.
Anugrah Narain Singh appreciated the efforts of Dr Bansal and AMA members for their services to the poor and the downtrodden.
The swimming competition prizes were also given to Dr AK Bansal and Dr Anand Kumar Singh were the top performers. Other recipients of the prizes were Dr Rajeev, Dr UP Singh, Dr BB Agarwal and others.
