Citizens may get all kinds of information on www.allahabadnagarnigam.in. Several innovative steps like introduction of Information Technology, 'City Development Plan' and several development projects have been included as part of the public involvement. The such initiative under 'Allahabad Ahead' has been taken to make the working of Nagar Nigam prompt and transparent.

The website available in Hindi as well as in English has information regarding ANN rules, procedures and its working. While the Hindi version is meant to cater to the needs of majority of citizens the English version is targeted towards attracting national and international tourist, media and funding institutions such as Planning Commission, World Bank, UNDP, USAID etc.

A special feature of on-line grievance redress system has been provided in the site which will allow any citizen to bring his problems to the immediate notice of the Nigam officials from his home or any of the internet cafes. This system is distinguished by its ability to sort the complaints amongst the departments and officials and allow for status updates to be made available on Internet promptly.

Besides, the Nigam has brought the details of taxation on line to ensure maximum transparency. The tax assessments, arrears, late fee etc have been brought on-line.

Giving special focus on the Constitutional Right to Information, the Nigam has implemented on-line methods for providing information sought by citizens under the Right to Information Act. Credit card processing is also being integrated to this site.

The administrator and District Magistrate Amrit Abhijat who took a keen interest in developing the Nigam website said that ANN would continue to add many other important on-line facilities like Birth and Death Registration, Trade Licences etc. in later phases to be implemented over next few months.

Importantly, ANN would also implement other interfaces to these Internet based facilities like telephone based complaint filing and processing over next few months.

Inaugurating the website in a function organised by Nagar Nigam at National Academy of Science's auditorium on Monday evening, the Divisional Commissioner Dr Lalit Verma said that it was necessary to upgrade all the information with time. Earlier Justice AK Yog lighted the lamp to mark the beginning of the symposium of city development.
