The police have arrested the man who allegedly supplied drugs to Sayyam Siddiqui, the co-accused in the cocaine case that cricketer-turned-commentator Maninder Singh is involved in. Siddiqui, who faces drug peddling charges, was freed on bail on Friday.

Sunder Murti (24), the arrested man, was picked up from Jungpura on Thursday night. "Murti used to supply hashish to Siddiqui, but he did not supply cocaine to Maninder," said AS Cheema, DCP (narcotics).

"Siddiqui had been using the same consignment of cocaine he had procured from Aslam, who was arrested in March. We zeroed in on Siddiqui after going through Aslam's mobile phone records. And through Siddiqui, we reached Maninder," the DCP added.

Sources said that Murti had taken to the trade to make easy money and that he was believed to have been supplying hashish to Siddiqui for over two years now.

Meanwhile, the police denied reports that Singh and Siddiqui had been tested for drugs after being arrested.
