Another witness denies seeing Monica and Salem

A WITNESS in the fake passport case lodged here against gangster Abu Salem’s companion Monica Bedi on Tuesday denied having seen them near her house.

Tulsa Bai, who was shown photographs of Monica and Salem, said before Judge D K Dangi that she had not seen them near her house in Gandhi Nagar area.

Applications for passports, allegedly procured by Salem and Monica, gave their address as a house in the Gandhi Nagar locality.

Monica Bedi was present in the court. Dangi, who fixed next hearing in the case on November 9 and 10, rejected a plea by Monica for inclusion of the undertaking given by the Centre to Portuguese authorities during her extradition in the case documents.

Monica, Salem, his wife Sameera Jumani, Siraj alias Abdul Jameel and Abdul Kabeer Baba, were booked in the fake passport case in 2001.
