On the occasion, Singh will also formally inaugurate the second phase of the newly constructed building of Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya at Mati.

Both Kendriya Vidyalaya and Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya are adjacent to each other and 15 acres of land had been earmarked for the construction of Kendriya Vidyalaya, informed Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) member Jitendra Singh Kushwaha.

The proposal for Kendriya Vidyalaya was forwarded to the HRD minister on October 10, 2004 and it would take about two years for the building to be completed. The HRD Ministry has approved a budget of Rs 3 crore for the construction of school building. On July 29, the HRD Minister gave formal orders for the start of the first session of the Kendriya Vidyalaya at Mati. As a temporary measure, the District Administration of Kanpur Dehat had hired a portion of the Akbarpur Inter College for starting the Kendriya Vidyalaya.

“A portion of the Akbarpur Inter College comprising 30 rooms has been selected for starting the Kendriya Vidhalaya. All formalities related to selection of teachers and admission of students will be over by the end of September,” informed Khushwaha.

“For the construction of the building of Kendriya Vidyalaya, a budget of Rs 3 crore has been approved by the HRD ministry,” stated Kushwaha.

Kushwaha said that the minister would also address a ‘Congress Ki Janchatana’ rally at Mati. “Party general secretary Ashok Ghelot, Union Minister of State for Home Sriprakash Jaiswal and State President of Congress Salman Khurshid will also address the rally,” added Khushwaha.

Members of the Zila Panchayat of Kanpur Dehat have also demanded for a training and recruitment center for paramilitary forces and a sports stadium at Mati.
