Arms and explosives seized in Jammu

Two hand grenades, four rocket launchers and 12 rounds of pika gun ammunition have been seized.

Security forces have recovered a consignment of arms and explosives, including four rocket launchers, from a village in Kathua district, police said today.

The consignment was initially detected by locals at village Thanoon in Kathua district yesterday, police said adding later a joint team of police and security forces rushed to the spot and recovered the armaments wrapped in bags.

It included two hand grenades, four rocket launchers and 12 rounds of pika gun ammunition, they said.

Police and security forces have launched a search in the village and its adjoining areas to nab the militants who are believed to have dumped the consignment and fled away.
