Arms recovered from terrorist hideouts in J&K

Security forces have busted three terrorist hideouts and recovered arms and explosives and Pakistan currency in J&K.

Security forces have busted three terrorist hideouts and recovered arms and explosives, including 15 kgs of RDX and Pakistan currency, in Poonch, Rajouri and Doda districts of Jammu and Kashmir.

Based on an intelligence input, troops raided a man-made hideout at Ragdhar in Ramsu area of Doda district on Saturday, defence sources said, adding the recoveries included 15 kgs of RDX, two AK magazines, 30 rounds of AK ammunition, one Chinese-made hand grenade, four detonators and Rs 2000 in Pakistan currency.

Another hideout was busted by a joint team of Army and police at Dharkas Nallah in Mendhar tehsil of Poonch district also on Saturday.

The recoveries yielded three AK rifles with three magazines, four pistols with eight magazines and 840 rounds of 7.62 mm ammunition.

Reports from Rajouri district said that security forces busted a third terrorist hideout in Kandi area during search operation. However, the terrorists present there managed to escape.

The seizure included a .303 rifle with 40 rounds and 20 rounds of assorted ammunition.

Search operations are on in the area to nab terrorists.
