Arrangements for Amarnath Yatra reviewed

The arrangements for Shri Amarnathji Yatra, which is scheduled to begin on July 2 and conclude on August 29, were reviewed on Tuesday by the district development commissioner, Udhampur, Yasha Mudgal.

The meeting discussed in detail the arrangements being put in place by the district administration from Tikri village to Patnitop. The arrangements included drinking water, power supply at locations of stay, sanitation, provision of temporary toilets, lodging and langar facilities, medicare, traffic and security arrangements.

The DDC issued specific instructions to officers of different departments to conduct regular check of market to ensure that there is no overcharging by shopkeepers for goods purchased by the pilgrims.

To meet any medical emergency, the health department would augment medical facilities at Tikri, Rehmble, Udhampur, Chenani and Kud.
