Assam govt orders probe into skeleton recovery

The Assam government on Sunday ordered a probe into the recovery of skeletons from a dumping ground of the Guwahati Municipal Corporation in Guwahati.

The Assam government on Sunday ordered a probe into the recovery of skeletons from a dumping ground of the Guwahati Municipal Corporation in Guwahati.

The Kamrup (City) District Administration has ordered a probe to be conducted by the Circle Officer, official sources said.

The six skulls and bones found yesterday from a dumping ground in Fatasil Ambari area, which is being developed as a housing project, have been sent for forensic test, they said.

The site was a dumping ground for GMC till 1974 where unclaimed bodies found in the urban area were disposed.
