Aston Martin unveils Rapide S sports car

The four-door Rapide S, a new varient of Rapide from Aston Martin stable was unveiled in Coimbatore on Saturday. The Rs 4.4 crore, 'Rapide S' replaces the 'Rapide' in market worldwide. Company is targeting 10 to 15 customers for this sports car this year.

The Rs 4.4 crore, 'Rapide S' replaces the 'Rapide' in market worldwide, Sandeep Gupta, Assistant Sales Manager of 'Performance Cars' an exclusive Mumbai dealer for Aston Martin, told reporters.

The company is targeting 10 to 15 customers for this sports car during its road show through-out the country in different cities, he said.

Alongwith Rapide S, the company has also put on display, Aston Martin 'Vantage' to the Coimbatore and Tirupur customers, he said.

The fluctuating pound rate and also increased customs duty, which has gone up from 110 % to 175 %, has reflected in the price, Gupta argued.

Since its inception in 2011, the company has sold 55 units in the country. It targets to sell a minimum of 20 cars in South India this year.
