Multi-talented Ayushmann Khurrana made a remarkable impression with his debut film Vicky Donor in 2012, winning two Filmfare awards as best debut actor and as playback singer.

Born in 1984, in Chandigarh, the actor found his fame with MTV Roadies season 2 in 2004. An English graduate, Ayushmann Khurrna soon moved on to become an MTV VJ with Pepsi MTV Wassup, The Voice of Youngistaan. Khurrana also participated in popular MTV shows like MTV Fully Faltoo Movies - Cheque De India and Jaadoo Ek Baar in 2008. Next year, Ayushmann Khurrana continued his love for MTV with shows like Fantastic Five, Gone in 60 Seconds, MTV Roadies Hell Down Under auditions, MTV Rock On auditions and Stripped. https://www.hindustantimes.com/Images/Popup/2012/4/Vicky_donor_450.jpg

The stint at MTV was followed by several other TV shows hosted by Ayushmann. He anchored India’s Got Talent, Music Ka Maha Muqqabla and Just Dance. Just Dance fetched Ayushmann the Indian Television Academy Award as the Best Anchor of 2011.

Ayushmann was also a theatre artist, active for five years (2002-2007). He founded DAV College (Punjab) theatre groups Aaghaaz and Manchtantra - active and prominent theatre groups in the actor’s hometown Chandigarh. Ayushmann has also conceptualized and enacted street plays and won prizes in national fests like- Mood Indigo (IIT Mumbai), BITS Pilani and St. Bedes Simla. He also won a Best Actor award for playing Ashwatthama in Dharamvir Bharati’s Andha Yug.

After finishing his post graduation in Journalism from Punjab University Chandigarh, Ayushmann took up his first job as a Radio Jockey in BIG FM, Delhi in 2007. He worked for the show Big Chai - Maan Na Maan, Main Tera Ayushmann. The show made Ayushmann bag the Young Achievers Award in 2007.

In 2010, Ayushmann co-anchored Extra Innings T20 for Indian Premier League Season 3 on SET Max with Gaurav Kapur, Samir Kochhar and Angad Bedi. He started off with anchoring Super Star Buzz, a weekly show giving latest updates on Indian film industry.

Ayushmann Khurrana got his first Bollywood break with Vicky Donor. John Abraham’s first film as a producer, Vicky Donor is the crown of success in Khurrana’s career. Vicky Donor is a rom-com, that talks about sperm donation.

Directed by ace director and ad film maker Shoojit Sircar, Vicky Donor was a huge success at the box office and also garnered much critical acclaim.


With Vicky Donor, Ayushmann arrived as the multi-talented guy in Bollywood. After hosting TV shows and participating in reality shows, Khurrana was now not only acting in a Bollywood movie, but also singing the crazily popular song Paani Da Rang, co-composed by him and a friend. Both his roles in the movie won him Filmfare awards – for the best actor debut and best playback singer male.

Khurrana‘s Nautanki Saala is set for April 2013 release. Ayushmann has also sung two songs in the Rohan Sippy’s movie, one of which is again composed by him along with Rochak Kohli.

Ayushmann Khurrana is also set to reunite with his Vicky Donor team, in Hamara Bajaj where he will play the role of a struggling actor.
