BHU student scales Himalayan peak

A RESEARCH scholar in the department of Ancient Indian History, Culture and Arts in Banaras Hindu University, Subhash Chandra Yadav, claimed to have climbed 19000 feet high DKD-II peak situated in Garhwal region of the Himalayas in the State of Uttaranchal.

A RESEARCH scholar in the department of Ancient Indian History, Culture and Arts in Banaras Hindu University, Subhash Chandra Yadav, claimed to have climbed 19000 feet high DKD-II peak situated in Garhwal region of the Himalayas in the State of Uttaranchal.

Subhash Yadav is the first students of Banaras Hindu University, to have hoisted the national flag on 19000 feet high peak.

He achieved this feat in a month-long advanced mountaineering course of Nehru Mountaineering Institute.

Subhash Yadav said that their group started climbing the peak at 2 am on October 3 and climbed the peak in 9 hours.

“It was a very difficult task to climb the peak as we had to face extreme adverse weather conditions. However, we continued till we achieved our goal”, he said.
