Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Kumar Modi said that a large number of NRIs from Bihar who have excelled in different fields were "over enthusiastic" to contribute money for the development of the state.

"During my recent visit to United Kingdom, Canada and Italy along with Finance Ministers of Himachal Pradesh, Delhi and Assam, several non resident Biharis expressed their willingness to contribute for the development of Bihar", he said.

They insisted upon creating a corpus fund to which they could contribute for the development of the state, he said.

The deputy Chief Minister said the government would also create an NRI cell for direct networking with the people of Bihar living in different parts of the world and shortlist their proposals for making investments in the state.

There are a number of doctors and professionals of Bihar origin living in UK, USA, Canada and Middle East who have evinced interest in making investment in the land of their birth, Modi said.
