Bindra to have a series of meetings with leaders

Olympic gold winning shooter Abhinav Bindra will meet a host of Indian political leaders including President Pratibha Patil and Prime Minister Manmohan Singh in New Delhi.

Bindra will first meet Sports Minister MS Gill and then President Patil followed by a meeting with Vice President Hamid Ansari.

Bindra will also meet Lok Sabha speaker Somnath Chatterjee and Congress president Sonia Gandhi in the evening apart from after addressing media in the afternoon.

Bindra shot to glory by ending India's drought of an individual Olympic gold when he won the 10m air rifle event on Monday in the ongoing Beijing Olympics.

Bindra arrived here late last night to a tumultuous welcome and was received by his family and fans.
