After flight G8 225 took off from the airport for Delhi, it suffered the bird hit following which the pilot immediately brought it down, Airport Director Vivek Upadhaya said.

He said that the plane had come from Delhi and was returning when the incident happened.

Airport engineers found a technical snag in the plane after which the flight was cancelled, Upadhaya said.

The stranded passengers of the GoAir plane created a furore demanding an alternative hop at the airport after which 92 passengers were flown to their destination by others air lines, sources said.
