Chudasma, the BJP candidate for Sokhda seat in Vadodara district panchayat polls -- scheduled on October 21 -- was attacked last midnight by a group of unidentified men with lathis and sharp weapons in Nandesarai area, they said.

Two companions of Chudasma were also injured in the attack, police said. Chudasma, who sustained head injuries, was rushed to a hospital and was under treatment at the ICU, police said.
