"There must be a judicial inquiry to find out the real picture. The June 22 clashes were not an accident, but a well-targeted vendetta against some social activists," Rudy told reporters here.

Krishak Mukti Sangram Samiti leader Gogoi, who has been arrested on charges of leading the violent anti-eviction protest rally, should be expeditiously released, he said.

Accusing the Congress government in Assam of suppressing democratic movements "forcefully", Rudy said, "This is Congress' gift to the people of Assam after its fabulous victory in the polls."

Rudy also demanded a compensation of Rs 5 lakh to the next of kin of those killed in the violence.
