"What happened in Ahmedabad on Sunday is totally condemnable and being Chief Minister of the state, Narendra Modi should apologise for that," the Congress leader told media persons in Rajkot.

"Doing such things is not our culture but the BJP is promoting it," he said.

Criticising the BJP for targeting Singh, Sharma said that the party should "talk about nation's development instead of targeting individuals".

On BJP's prime ministerial candidate L K Advani, Sharma said that the senior BJP leader's ambition to hold the top post will never be fulfilled.

"He (Advani) is eagerly waiting to become Prime Minister but his desire will never come through," he said.
