BJP worker suffers serious stab wounds in fresh attack

A BJP activist sustained serious stab injuries after a group of persons attacked him with deadly weapons at Vattipram near Kuthuparamba early on Wednesday, two days after an RSS worker was killed in the district in a similar incident.

A BJP activist sustained serious stab injuries after a group of persons attacked him with deadly weapons at Vattipram near Kuthuparamba early on Wednesday, two days after an RSS worker was killed in the district in a similar incident.

Rajeesh, a truck driver, who was returning home after his assignment around 0200 hours, was attacked by the miscreants sustaining serious stab wounds on both his legs, police said.

He was rushed to Kozhikode Medical College Hospital.

The BJP men who lodged a complaint at the Kuthuparamba police station accused the CPI-M workers behind the fresh attack, police said adding that additional police forces have been deployed in the area to monitor law and order situation.

An RSS-BJP worker Sajith Kumar, bus driver, was stabbed to death in the early hours of April 27 near Mattannur in the district and police registered cases against 12 CPI-M workers in connection with the attack.
