Blanchett is no Little Fish
It is believed Cate Blanchett is the main contender and is seriously considering the lead role in director Rowan Woods', latest film Little Fish to be shot in her homeland.
Cate's set to come home. It means Blanchett will be returning to Australia for the filming - the first time since filming Oscar and Lucinda, opposite Ralph Fiennes.
The Golden Globe winner was back in Sydney in September last year with her husband Andrew Upton and baby boy Dashiell John for a holiday and the premiere of Heaven.
It is also believed Martin Henderson, who once appeared in Summer Bay on Home and Away, and more recently The Ring with Naomi Watts, is to co-star in Little Fish with Blanchett.
The Kiwi-born actor has just been working on Gurinder Chadha's Bollywood version of Pride and Prejudice, in the role of Mr Darcy opposite former Miss World, Aishwarya Rai and is also set to star in American action film Torque.
Little Fish is written by Jacquelin Perske and will be produced by Vincent Sheehan. An early teaser for the movie reads: "You can change your clothes, your job, the car you drive, but you can't change who you are and where you come from."
