Bomb hoax creates panic at Kumbh Mela

A hoax call about a bomb in a vehicle created panic at Kumbh Mela site in Nasik on Sunday night, police said.

A hoax phone call about a bomb in an auto rickshaw created panic among the people at Seeta Gumpha locality in city's Panchavati area, the site of the Kumbh Mela, on Sunday night.

After receiving an anonymous call that a bomb had been kept in an auto rickshaw, top police officials rushed to the spot and searched the whole area with the help of bomb disposal squad for over two hours, police said on Monday.

The security has been further tightened after the hoax call, police added.

Later, it was found that the "bomb" was only a bag containing clothes and a torch, police added.
