Brad Hogg grabbed his chance to claim a spot in Australia's World Cup squad after Shane Warne dislocated his shoulder.

He was drafted into the team, bowled a tidy spell and was duly given the nod by the selectors.

Hogg's experience would have helped his cause.

He has been in and around the top level of the game for over five years, although in that time he has only clocked up a handful of international appearances.

But as well as experience he also has a strong all-round game.

If called on, he will add weight to the Australian tail and he can be relied on in the field.
