Oscar winning actor Morgan Freeman says the movie has contemporary appeal.

Oscar winning actor Morgan Freeman has tipped "Brokeback Mountain" to win at the upcoming Oscar awards even though he admitted the film did not dazzle him.

According to contactmusic.com, Freeman acknowledges that the movie has a contemporary appeal but says he has another as a favourite.

He says: "Brokeback Mountain is this year's right subject at the right time, which is all that counts. I liked the movie... but I wouldn't choose it over Capote or (its star) Philip Seymour Hoffman."
