BSF recovers 25 kg heroin from a Pakistani national

Border Security Forces (BSF) recovered 25 kg heroin from a Pakistani national at Ranbir Singh Pura at the Indo-Pak International Border in the intervening night on late Tuesday night, 25 km from Jammu.
It was one of the biggest recoveries of drugs at Indo-Pakistan border at RS Pura that the troops of 52 battalion of BSF recovered from the possession of a Pakistani national.
According to PRO BSF Jammu, Prem Singh, "BSF had information from reliable sources that there would be an attempt of smuggling of a big haul of drugs at the International border in RS Pura sector." Later in a press conference DIG sector Jammu of BSF, GS Virk said that observing movement of a person at the SH Way post at RS Pura the troops of BSF cordon the post and finally arrested the person.
During frisking 25 packets of heroin and each packet contains one kg of drug (worth 25 crore in international market) have been recovered from his possession, the DIG added.
Virk said,” the arrested person has been identified as Mohammad Ashraf (50) son of Anayat resident of village Kat Kada Thand Singh in Pasroor area of district Syalkot in Pakistan."
The BSF DIG said that during preliminary questioning the accused revealed that the drug smugglers who gave him the job of hiding the drug haul inside Indian Territory at a particular spot from where another person would take the consignment. "Questioning with the arrested person is on and we want to know the modus operandi of smuggling of drugs at Indo-Pak border," the BSF spokesperson added.
Meanwhile, on the same night at Kot Kubba post at RS Pura, the troops of BSF's 52 battalion have arrested seven Bangladeshi nationals, while attempting to cross over to Pakistan.
