Budapest to confer honorary citizenship on Dalai Lama

Tibetan spiritual leader Dalai Lama will visit Hungary this month when he will be conferred honorary citizenship by the city of Budapest.

Tibetan spiritual leader Dalai Lama will visit Hungary this month when he will be conferred honorary citizenship by the city of Budapest.

According to information received from Tibetan-Government-in-exile here, the General Assembly of the City of Budapest had unanimously voted on 26 August to confer on Dalai Lama the citizenship.

The Dalai Lama had visited Hungary seven times and the first visit was in 1982.
