Several schemes related to the welfare of people like those in the sectors of PWD, power, health, transport, social welfare, rural engineering, education and medical departments have not been able to take shape due to delay in fund allotments, BJP spokesperson Sarjit Singh Dang said in Lucknow.

Only 30 to 50 per cent budget of some of these departments have been released, Dang said adding that this hampered development works.

Recalling as to how schemes and funds were cleared in the first quarter of the fiscal itself during the then Kalyan Singh-led BJP Government, he alleged that under the present regime, either the clearance was awaited at the secretariat level itself or even where it has been provided it left unutilised at the department level.

Charging the government with adopting laxity in financial management, Dang said this led to clearances being given hurriedly to meet the target on fiscal closing in March.

"This has resulted in misuse of public money worth crores of rupees," he added.
