Cables go underground in Paharganj

To make Delhi more beautiful, especially during the Commonwealth Games, power distributor BSES Yamuna Power Limited has shifted its electricity cables underground in the crowded Karol Bagh and Paharganj areas of Central Delhi.

To make Delhi more beautiful, especially during the Commonwealth Games, power distributor BSES Yamuna Power Limited has shifted its electricity cables underground in the crowded Karol Bagh and Paharganj areas of Central Delhi.

The jungle of overhead cables has been replaced with underground network with state-of-the-art, compact sub-stations.

A total of Rs 50 crore has been spent to shift the overhead wires underground in the congested by-lanes. "Apart from beauty, this will help locate and fix electricity faults faster and reduce power theft," said Ramesh Narayanan, CEO of BYPL. HTC
