Cache of explosives recovered
AT LEAST seven boxes containing 2,352 explosives were recovered from an agricultural field in a village, 55 km from here. Police said on Monday that the explosives include six boxes of dynamite sticks and one box of detonators.
AT LEAST seven boxes containing 2,352 explosives were recovered from an agricultural field in a village, 55 km from here. Police said on Monday that the explosives include six boxes of dynamite sticks and one box of detonators.
There were about 1200 dynamite rods in six boxes besides 1152 detonators in one box neatly packed and carrying tags of a Nagpur-based company at the field of one Harbhajan Meena at village Goriakheda on Sunday, Superintendent of Police Dev Prakash Gupta said.
The 1200 rods of dynamites have been manufactured at 48, Merchant Market, Gandhinagar, Nagpur. The box of detonators contained 24 packets with 48 detonators each. The dynamite and detonators were sent to Bhopal for further tests, he said.
A case was registered against Meena who was yet to be arrested, Gupta said adding that efforts were also on to trace the company. A police team is likely to be sent to Maharashtra as and when need arises.
