Car hits bike, victim dragged 100 metres
In yet another hit-and-run case, a 32-year-old automobile engineer and his wife suffered severe injuries after a speeding car hit his bike near Apna Enclave on Railway Road. The engineer is battling for his life in a private hospital. Fortunately, his 4-year-old son escaped with minor injuries.

The accused, who was allegedly drunk, abandoned the car on the spot and fled.
Chandan Giri, his wife Jyoti and son Chetan were returning from Laxman Vihar around 9.30pm on Sunday when a black Hyundai i10 car hit his bike near Sector 4.
The impact of the collision was such that Chetan, who had tightly held his father, landed on the other side of the road.
According to the police, Giri's jacket was caught in the car after the collision and the car dragged him for more than 100 metres. He suffered serious head injuries and is in a state of coma.
"The men in the car seemed drunk and the music was loud. My husband's helmet broke into pieces due to the impact. We were shouting for help but the men did not stop the car and dragged my husband on the road. He was profusely bleeding but they just fled. We were taken to the hospital by the police," Jyoti said.
The police have identified the car owner, a resident of Model town, with the help of the vehicle licence plate (HR-26 AD 0515).
While Giri is currently in an ICU at the Medanta Medicity hospital, his wife has suffered multiple fractures on her right arm and stitches on her head and neck. With both parents in the hospital, the grandmother is taking care of the child.
