Case against teacher for beating student

A case has been registered against a school teacher for beating and abusing a student at Thiklana, in Panuwanaula, 25 kms from Almora, police said on Saturday.

A case has been registered against a school teacher for beating and abusing a student at Thiklana, in Panuwanaula, 25 kms from Almora, police said on Saturday.The case has been registered on the orders of the Sub-divisional District Magistrate N S Quirila after the mother of the child, Master Thakur Singh, brought the issue to his notice.

In her complaint, the mother alleged that Pratap Ram, a teacher with a primary school had severely beaten and abused Thakur, a student of class fifth.The SDM appointed Nayak Tehsildar, Shyam Bihari, to investigate the matter,who found the allegations to be true. Registration of the case under Section 504 and 324 of the IPC against Ram has been ordered.
