THE STATE government has asked the CB-CID to take effective action and submit its report within 15 days with regard to use of forged signatures of officers in the chief minister’s secretariat in 4 to 6 cases.
Special secretary, Home, Saurabh Babu and SP CBCID, SN Singh, while talking to mediapersons, said ADG CB-CID Shailendra Sagar was conducting investigations in the case. With regard to forged orders of the Allahabad High Court, the officers said the CBI was investigating 22 out of 83 such cases.
The CB-CID was investigating 24 cases while the district police was taking care of 35 cases in 15 districts. So far charge sheets had been filed in 28 cases and 64 persons had been arrested. Those arrested include advocates, they said and added a report was also being submitted to HC regarding complicity of court’s staff.
The State government was monitoring such cases on regular basis following the directives of the Allahabad High Court in this regard. The officers said the HC had issued directives in this regard while hearing the criminal appeal number 4733/2003.
Home secretary RM Srivastava said about six cases of forged signatures of officers of the CM’s secretariat and 82 fake orders of the Allahabad High Court had come to notice.
The State government has appointed two separate nodal officers to monitor the progress of investigations in such cases.
Srivastava said the cases had been brought to the notice of the State government in the past two - three months. The State government has asked the CB-CID to expedite investigations in such cases, he said.
