Addressing a function, Chamling said future planning had been done on how to manage the economic and financial affairs of the state. He said that his government had worked out both short-term and long-term policies and had been working with the interest of the Sikkimese people in mind.
The Chief Minister, however, stressed on the need for some introspection on what "could not be achieved" despite all efforts. He said the state government could not privatise some unviable industries due to various reasons.
Chamling also said the developmental schemes could not be implemented at district and Panchayat levels and people at the grass-root level could also not be actively involved in the process of planning and development.
