Chasing stories to death: Attacks on journos show dangers they face

Recent attacks on journalists in mofussil towns are indicative of the dangers they face on the job.

According to the Press Council of India, 79 journalists have been killed in the past 25 years. The database maintained since 1992 by the Committee to Protect Journalists (CPJ) shows that 22 journalists have been murdered (with confirmed motives).
