Chemists have decided to join the traders' bandh in the Capital from October 30 to November 1.

The All Delhi Chemists' Association, which has the support of about 10,000 chemists, said it would be participating in the bandh called to protest against the resumption of the sealing drive by the Municipal Corporation of Delhi. The decision was taken at a meeting on Thursday.

Praveen Khandelwal, secretary general of the Confederation of All India Traders, said, "Most of the wholesale businesses of chemists are located in basements which will be sealed after November 1."

During the three days, chemists will not sell medicines over the counter and distributors will not supply medicines to government and private hospitals. "We have unanimously decided to stop supply to institutions. Distributors too will not sell medicines," said Kailash Gupta, general secretary, All Delhi Chemists' Association.
